The Attributes of God Part 1
There are three attributes of God that are essential to God’s nature.
They usually are used in reference to each other since each word begins with four- letters prefix “Omni” meaning all in latin. Omnipotence / Omniscience / Omnipresence.
Philosophy’s View comments that these attributes work tremendously.
Omnipotence – He is all powerful.
Omniscience – God is all- seeing and all- knowing.
Omnipresence – He’s everywhere at all times.
Attribute – Omnipotence Description – This means God is all powerful.
Attributes of God part one
Omnipotence
Why is God, God – because He is all powerful and all- knowing in the sense that He knows the past , present and future. God’s Omnipotence is totally defined by the fact that His powers are infinite and limitless.
I give thanks that I know that God is All – loving, All- forgiving, and All – accepting; these other wonderful and important attributes of God’s character adds to His nature to make Him the God He is.
I feel that I must tell you that Satan is not omnipotent, only God is. All other beings whether human or spirit are restricted in their abilities. Some people believe that Satan in his world, has a God like status and that his powers somehow mimic God’s powers just at a lower level. This is absolutely not true and there is no such thing as “partial Omnipotence ”. Satan is a created being; he is limited and restricted in the spirit realm, as well as all the angels and demons. While we would agree that Satan works through a vast array of spirit beings who executes his evil will, he is no more Omnipotent than you or me. For that reason Omnipotence can only be used in relation to God.
The term Omnipotence is not found in scriptures but is clearly referenced . His Omnipotence is seen in His act of creation. Man may have limited authority over creation but not the power that belongs only to God .
God’s Omnipotence is present within governments as He sets them up and puts them down all in accordance with His will and to fulfill His purposes.
According to scriptures satan’s powers are limited, satan’s attack on Job was restricted because he had to ask permission of God before he was able to attack Job in any way, therefore proving that there is only so much he can do.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD. Job 1:12 KJV
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. Job 2:6 KJV
Conclusion
God is the King of all Kings “All authority exousia = authority and power to act has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” Jesus made another statement about Omnipotence when He said “But with God all things are possible.” This is why God is referred to throughout the scriptures as the Almighty Matthew 19:26 KJV.
The Omnipotence of God gives every saint a firm foundation to trust Him and to have confidence in His ability to keep the magnificent promises in the scriptures.
