Biblical View of Consequence

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting
Galatians 6:7-8 KJV

Described as crafty , comes disguised as pious, quoting scriptures, referred to as the “angel of light”, the serpent appeared to the woman in the garden and began placing doubts in her mind with the question “hath God said”?. Without thinking about the consequence she went on to accept what the enemy construed as truth and ate the fruit thereby disobeying God thus entered sin and destruction into the human race.( Genesis 3:1-6)

Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
Genesis 3:1-6 KJV

Would we have done it any differently?, one may ask, could we have withstood the lure that the serpent presented?. As we face the consequences of the sin of our first mother we fast forward to today and the cycle continues. I am sure for the most part we can all remember finding ourselves in a situation where we might have ask the question “didn’t the bible say, haven’t God said” ?. Just as it was in the beginning the tempter continues to distract, confuse, cast doubt, manipulate among other devises to draw us away from fellowship with our creator God.

Paul tells us in Ephesian 6:10-18 that we should put on the whole armor of God that we will be able to stand in these evil days against the wiles of the devil. As Women living in today’s society we are faced with so many different challenges and responsibilities, some of which are being wives, mothers, juggling employment among other roles. Life can get very overwhelming at times, therefore we need to make our relationship with God our number one priority, spending time in his word, praying, surrounding ourselves with likeminded believers , having women who can encourage, support and lift us up.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV

God always stands ready and willing to hear and answer us when we call on him. His love for us is never-ending, unchanging and steadfast. Just like in the beginning when he created our first parents to have that fellowship and close intimate relationship with, so it is today. Let us keep our eyes fixed on him and in doing so when the enemy comes and whispers ” hath God said”? we can say without a doubt and without giving the enemy a foothold, “Yes he hath definitely said”! and therefore maintaining our fellowship with him, and when this world should come to an end and he should have establish a new Eden we will be permanent citizens with him and what was once stolen from us will be regained for all eternity.

May all the women continue to hold fast to the word of God and not be dissuaded by the enemy. May the Lord continue to keep , guard and guide us ’til that end.
