The Bible's Origin

Questions or concerns are often raised about who wrote the bible. The bible is the revelation of God to man, it consists of sixty-six books together forming one book.

Categories of the Bible 1 Twenty-two books of the Bible are mainly historical. 2 Twenty-one are largely books of prophecy. 3 Twenty-one books are in the form of letters. 4 Two books are primarily poetic.

These books were written by at least thirty-six different authors over a period of 1,600 years, some of whom were Kings, Farmers, Lawyers, Fishermen, Ministers, Priest and Tax collector. Some rich, some poor. All these books combined became the Bible, One Book! because God the author inspired all these different authors to record His messages of love, creation, fall of mankind , right living , the gift of His Son to this world , His soon coming to rescue His people from a sinful world among so many other messages. I pray we will all take some time to read the bible, which is the word of God and come to know Him as our Lord and Savior.

The prophecies of the Bible were given by the Holy Spirit. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2nd Peter 1:21KJV Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.1st 1vs 10-11 KJV

This is a confirmation that “the Spirit of Christ” inspired the prophets to show that the whole Bible is a God inspired book.

The question may be asked how much of the Bible is inspired by God?

Paul echoes that all inspirational knowledge and wisdom was given to man by God so that man may be perfect through the Holy Spirt.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 2nd Timothy 3 16 -17 KJV

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7KJV

Examples of prophet’s recognition that their messages were from God.

1 David said—”The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.” 2nd Samuel 23:2 KJV

2 Jeremiah said– Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. But the LORD said unto me, say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. Jeremiah 1:4-9 KJV

3 God told Ezekiel— “And thou shalt speak my words,” Ezekiel 2: 7 KJV

4 When Zacharias, the father of John the Baptists, “was filled with the Holy Ghost” he said that God had spoken “by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began. “Luke 1: 70 KJV

Conclusion Here we can see the inspiration in God’s messages to the prophets we see that God is the fountainhead of truth. Christ received truth from the Father, Jesus then gave it to the chosen angel. The angel communicated the message to the people either orally, written or both.
