Attributes of God Part 3

OMNIPRESENT- This means that the presence of God is everywhere.

Omnipresence

“Where is God?”—This is a very important question. The seeker wants to know so does the skeptic and the guilty sinner so he can run the other way. And so, does every hurting person who feels abandoned by the Almighty. Where is God when I need Him?”

Omnipresence is the hardest of the 3 “Omni” for us to grasp. We can only be in one place at any time, but God is everywhere at the same time, it means His divine presence encompasses the whole universe. There is no location where he does not inhabit. Omnipresence indicates that God is distinct from the universe but inhabits the entirety of it, He is everywhere. The problem is we have nothing to compare it to. Man is only able to be in one place at a time. None of us have the ability to exist forever- we all have a birthday and an expiration date! We are all constantly changing (Hopefully into a greater likeness of Christ).

Is God all powerful? YES! we can slightly grasp that concept because we have power and strength. Is God all wise? YES! we can conceive because we have wisdom and knowledge. We are not able to appreciate the logic of present everywhere. We can’t even be in two places at once. True fact is that we sometimes forget.

I feel that I must tell you that Satan is NOT Omnipresent, so we are not alone in this. Only God is Omnipresent. All other beings are restricted to a given place and a given time. Some people believe that Satan in “his” world has a god like status and can somehow mimic God’s powers just at a lower level. There is no such thing as “partial Omnipresence”. Satan is a created being! He is limited and restricted in the spirit realm, while we would agree that Satan works through a vast array of spirit beings who works his evil will, he is no more Omnipresent than you or me for that reason Omnipresence is a mystery to us.

Conclusion Omnipresent clearly means that God is everywhere, we cannot flee from His presence, He is always near. “The Lord is near at hand” according to William Secker “a man may hide from God from himself, and yet he cannot hide himself from God “so we need to recognise the Omnipresence of God. I really love these statements they immediately got me thinking, do I understand about God and how He reveals Himself to us?. God is the greatest, highest concept we can think about. It is important to know who God is because our faith is built on knowng Him, the more we know about Him the more our faith should grow.
